RESUMO

Hexamermis zirabi sp. n., recovered from a natural habitat of Mazandaran province, north of Iran, is described based on morphological and molecular data. The new species is characterized by its six cephalic papillae; cuticle with distinct cross fibers; conoid or sharply tapered head; mouth terminal; six hypodermal cords; J-shaped vagina oriented to the anterior end of body; uterus with Z-organs or sclerotized bodies; tail similar in both sexes and bluntly rounded; spicules paired, separate, slightly curved, shorter than body width at cloaca, with rounded tip; and male genital papillae arranged in five rows. In addition to the morphological study, molecular phylogenetic analyses using a partial large subunit (28S D2-D3) were also performed, and the new species formed a highly supported (1.00% Bayesian posterior probability (BPP)) clade with Hexamermis popilliae.

RESUMO

Abstract This work provides the results of a survey of entomonematodes parasites of grasshoppers in grasslands of the Pampean Region, Argentina. Nymphs of Staurorhectus longicornis Giglio-Tos, Laplatacris dispar Rhen, 1939, Dichroplus elongatus Giglio-Tos, 1894 and Metaleptea brevicornis (L.) (Orthoptera: Acrididae) were collected. Mermithidae was the only family registered with seven species: Agamermis decaudata Cobb, Steiner and Christie, 1923, Amphimermis bonaerensis Miralles and Camino, 1983, Amphimermis dichroplusi Camino and Lange, 1997, Amphimermis ronderosi Camino and Lange, 1997, Hexamermis coclhearius Stock and Camino, 1992, Hexamermis ovistriata Stock and Camino, 1992, and Longimermis acridophila Camino and Stock, 1989. The values of parasitism ranged between 1-12%, and intensity not overcome the number of 5.0 nematodes per larva. The nematodes observed showed specificity, not registering the same species of parasite in more than one host species. The Pampean region constituted an area with high diversity of mermithids where new species could be consider as bioregulator agents of this troublesome insect pests in agricultural areas of Argentina.

Mermithidae era a única família registrado com sete espécies: Agamermis decaudata Cobb, Steiner and Christie, 1923, Amphimermis bonaerensis Miralles and Camino, 1983, Amphimermis dichroplusi Camino and Lange, 1997, Amphimermis ronderosi Camino and Lange, 1997, Hexamermis coclhearius Stock and Camino, 1992, Hexamermis ovistriata Stock and Camino, 1992, e Longimermis acridophila Camino and imagem, de 1989.

Cameronia laplatae n. sp. found in City Bell, Argentina, parasitizing crickets is described and illustrated. The new species is distinguished from other members of the genus Cameronia by the distribution pattern of the genital papillae in the male. It differs from all congeners mainly in having two pairs preanal y two pairs postanal papillae.

RESUMO

Two different Rhabditida species (Nematoda: Rhabditidae) Parasitorhabditis platidontus n. sp. and Cruznema campestris n. sp. are described and illustrated from the larvae of Cyclocephala signaticollis (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) from Buenos Aires province, Argentina. Parasitorhabditis platidontus n. sp. is characterized by having 4 odontoplates in the stoma and the vulva is at 80% of the length of the body. Cruznema campestris n. sp. can be distinguished by the presence of 4 odontoplates and the arrangement of the male genital papillae, 9 pairs, of which 4 are preanal and 5 postanal.

RESUMO

The nematode Binema bonaerensis n. sp. (Oxyurida: Thelastomatidae) is described from the intestine of the mole cricket of Neocurtilla claraziana Saussure (Orthoptera: Gryllotalpidae) from Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It is distinguished mainly by having a conical tail; three sclerotized arches in the buccal cavity; an excretory pore immediately posterior to the base of the esophagus and the presence of five pairs of male genital papillae with one pair preanal and four pairs postanal.

(Rhabditida: Rhabditidae) found in Lincoln, Buenos Aires, parasitizing the cricket Gryllodes laplatae (Orthoptera: Gryllidae) are described and illustrated. C. magdalensis n. sp. is characterized by having the excretory pore between the pseudobulb and the basal bulb and seven pairs of postanal papillae in the male. C. lincolnensis n. sp. can be distiguished by having meanly two pairs of preanal papillae, one pair of adanal papillae and six pairs of postanal papillae in the male.
